Parent Code of Conduct

Youth sports programs play an important role in children's lives. They promote the physical, social and emotional development of children. It is imperative for parents, coaches and officials to encourage youth athletes to embrace the values of good sportsmanship. Adults involved in youth sports should be models of good sportsmanship and lead by example by demonstrating fairness, respect and self control. Therefore, all parents, coaches and spectators will abide by the following rules:

1.  I will treat all coaches, parents, players, participants, officials and any other attendees with respect regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability.

2.  I will be a positive role model for my child and encourage good sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice and/or event.

3.  I will not engage, or encourage my child to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee. this includes but is not limited to such actions as booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.

4.  I will not engage, or encourage my child to engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety or well being of any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.

5.  I will respect the officials and their authority during games, and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field. I will respectfully speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.

6.  I will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.

7.  I will not use, or encourage any other person to use drugs or alcohol while at games, and will not attend, coach, officiate or participate in any league event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

8.  I will teach my child that doing their best is more important than winning so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.

9.  I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.

10.  I will remember that  game is played for the youth and not for the adults, and most importantly that the game is played for fun!

Any individual that fails to conform to the foregoing while attending, coaching, officiating or participating in any game will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to the following in any order or combination as decided by the league:

  1. Verbal warning issued by the league.
  2. Written warning issued by the league.
  3. Immediate ejection from the game.
  4. Suspended from a game, or multiple games.
  5. Removal from the league.

Any player, coach, or parent ejected from a game will automatically be suspended for one game. All ejections are reviewed by the league, and if necessary can be extended to multiple games. A second ejection will be an automatic two game suspension, and possible removal from the league. A third ejection is removal from the league.
